Who is the better student, relative to his or her classmates? Here's all the information you ever wanted to know … Here's an interesting extra-credit question. As you know, one of the defining characteristics of the normal curve is that the tails do not touch the x-axis. Why don't they touch?

It is very interesting that ,tail of normal distribution never touch to x - axis. And reason behind it range of random variable X which is -inf < X < inf . So its tail only touches at the - inf and inf points.But inf is very very very big number which we can't find exact number.

So we can conclude that tail of Normal distribution never touch to its X axis.
