Answer #1

both of the companies are at risk of illegal activities by potentially violating the SHERMAN ACT OF 1890 by taking unfair use of their monopoly power . for gaining power and taking advantages in the market against the competitors .

THE SHERMAN ANTITRUST ACT OF 1890 is a antitrust law that regulates competition among enterprises by UNITED STATES .Which was passed by congress under presidency of BENJAMIN HARRISON

Microsoft was accused of violating the SHERMAN ANTITRUST ACT by combining their browser internet explorer with their operating system. And by this Microsoft got an unfair advantage in the browser market . Similarly what google can do is they can adjust their search engine algorithms in favor of google's products and services therefore directing searches to their own websites rather then the other websites by the competitor in the market. The FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION  in 2011 launched a investigation in googles practices of businesses .They want to find if google has rigged their search engines to link to their own pages and their major advertisers and sponsors

we do not think that google is bigger thereat to social welfare than Microsoft because a common person can change its browser easily with some clicks of mouse on their computers and mobile phones and google is a search engine and a person can change its search engine provider .But for a common average person it is way more difficult to change what operating system they are using

but on the other hand google is not just a search engine now .While this was true when the company was first started .Now search engine is just a small part of google .They have their own line of computers the Chromebooks and the Chromeboxes. Own the android line of phones , have their own office suit ,own YouTube and bloggers .As well as being the leading distributor of advertisements on the internet all over the globe . As well as many other services that are too numerous to list them here .So as because of it . google can change the lifestyle the thought process and the terminology of an individual by their way of approaching to a person with help of artificial intelligence .So google is a bigger threat to social welfare than Microsoft as because a person can change its operating system and all these things goes to an end .But in case of google its not just a search engine and a person is not able to avoid all the serviced provided by google or powered by google  essentially stop using internet which is impractical in this modern age

thank you

We conducted a comprehensive literature search on drones in conservation up to October 2nd 2018, in line with related studies [10,11,35]. This was further complemented through reference harvesting, citation tracking, abstracts in conference programs, and author search, using Research Gate and Mendeley (see PRISMA Flowchart in Supplementary Figure S1 Checklist and list of studies reviewed in Table S1).
