1. user Mailbox
2. Shared Mailbox
3. Resource Mailbox

1. User Mail box:
It is the mailbox used by students, staff and are associated with people, one mailbox per person. It is used in a daily basis and accessed with the GT account which receives the mail addressed to the user.
2. Shared Mailbox
It is used by more than one person and has a unique mail address. But doesn't have a GT account and a password. It is used by departments which need generic mail addresses. Mail sent to this mail box is seperate from the mail in a person's user mailbox. Users who use this shared mail box can see all mail in the mailbox. It is used to provide a common calender, allowing multiple users to schedule and view vacation time or work time.
3. Resource Mailbox
It is used for reserving and coordinating rooms and equipments. By including a Resource in a meeting request or calender item, you are reserving the Resource for that time period. When you create your calender event you can look at the Resource to check its availability.
4. Service Account Mailbox
This type of MAilbox also has uniqueGT Account, password and email address. It is limited to situations where an application needs to access a mailbox for processing email. Service Account mail boxes are not used as personal accounts and should not be used when multiple users needs to access a mail box.
