What is Biofeedback?

It is a mind-body technique to analyse how the body works. It uses sensors attached to the body to check the key body functions in form of visual and auditory signals. This can be used to cure many physical and mental conditions.

Difference between tactile biofeedback,pressure biofeedback and EMG biofeedback?

• Tactile biofeedback- This type of biofeedback is used to check the voice sound level in conditions where the voice sound level is low. This is done using a portable voice accumulator by recording the voice in 3 consecutive registrations.
• Pressure biofeedback - This type of biofeedback is used to facilitate muscle re-education by detecting movement of lumbar spine with a deep abdominal contraction which is in relation to air-filled reservoir. This specifically works for abdominal muscles.
• EMG biofeedback - This type of biofeedback is used to measure muscle tension/motor activity as it changes over time. In this we use electrodes which are placed on patient's muscle to generate a feedback signal in response to the muscle activation.
