Answer #1

From the government point of view, the purpose of family planning is to restrict the growth of population and improve the economic conditions of the country. It also intends to improve public health and social conditions of the country. Family planning reduces the number of unintended child birth as well as maternal and newborn deaths. The purpose of family planning is to provide women a better and healthy life. Government launches awareness programs to educate young women and their families about the benefits of small family. Family planning saves couples from unnecessary burden of raising multiple children and gives happiness to families adopting family planning. Government wants to see it's citizens should lead a happy life so that they will contribute more towards the economic development of the country.

Family planning is highly essential for the economic and social development of the country. Unnecessary population will slow down the economy and bring unavoidable problems for the family as well as for the country. Family planning will restrict the unwanted population and will be helpful for various developments of the country, it may be economic, political or social.

The downfall of the initial one child policy in China is due to :

1) The unwillingness of People to adopt one child policy because some parents particularly in rural areas want a male child to rule after their death. They do not hesitate to kill their baby girl to get a son. This leads to imbalanced male and female ratio, which becomes a headache for the country.

2) There are parents who are unhappy with this policy because if their only child lost his life due to some accident then the parents will left alone. In the fear of loneliness they want to take another child. Also they don't want to make their only child feel lonely, they want to take another child for the better growth and development of both the child. So they do not support one child policy.

Due to this, one child policy was a failure in China.

Yes, there are families in India who do not support one child policy. These people are generally uneducated and ignorant of social problems. They only think of their own benefits. They support two child because it will give them social security and lead their generation. Still, there are families who support male child as they will lead their generation and do not even feel guilty to kill or throw their female child in a garbage basket.

However, many families in India welcome the idea of family planning and implement it in their life. They adopt one child policy to provide a better education and a healthy life to their child. They know it is very difficult to raise two children, so they are ready to adopt family planning after one child.

In India, gradually people are becoming aware of the burdens of raising two or more children. They are following one child policy of other people and encouraging people to do the same. The pitfalls of China one child policy may not have strong impact on India as young generation are educating themselves and encouraging others about the benefits of family planning policies.

No, family planning should not only be left up to families, there should be role of government to encourage and support people to adopt family planning in large number. The role of government is very important in rural areas as people are less or uneducated. They need change in their daily life and want to live a better life but due to ignorance and poverty they can't move ahead. Government should help them by educating and giving them various employment opportunities so that they can take better decisions for their life. Government should provide them financial rewards so that they can think of small families and contribute for the development of the country.
