Answer) It all goes down to the fact that emotional pain hurts more than the physical pain. No doubt physical abuse has its own dreadful impact on someone's emotional health but the degree to which it disturbs our thoughts and behavior is much less than when someone experiences verbal abuse or non verbal abuse. Verbal abuse like swearing, name calling or bullying and non verbal abuse like rolling eyes or behaviors that involve intimidation significantly affects our mood and our thinking patterns. These things leave invisible scars as compared to the noticeable scars given by physical abuse, and that's why they are emotionally more damaging.

Non physical and physical abuse, both are two different types of abuses. One can destroy a person's inner well being and make them feel weak whereas the other can cause catastrophic injuries . In comparison pain from verbal abuse lasts longer than the physically inflicted pain because, the former have its deep roots in our memory and every time we recall it we experience the emotional trauma all over again. As physical abuse damages our body, non physical abuse damages our self esteem.
