Answer #1

There are different personality theories proposed so far. But personally i feel that "Johari Window" is the best personality theory. Joseph Luft and Harrignton Ingham pioneered this theory in 1955. Thus the theory is called as "Johari" window.

I prefer this theory and have chosen it because it conveys the essence of the concept personality in a holistic manner, reflects freedom and further it tends to be perhaps the simplest one.

The theory/ model includes the four quandrants-

1- Open arena- Personality facets known to the self and others too.

2- Facade- Aspects of personality known to the self but not known to others.

3- Blind spot- The attributes that are not known by the self but others know them well.

4- Unkwon- An area that reflects the personality traits neither known by the self nor by others.

The personality of the concerned person/ the subject is attempted to comprehend on the basis of 56 adjectives designed in the concept of Johari window.

Some of these adjectives are- idealistic, adaptable, nervous, responsive, caring, kind, complex, spontaneous, shy, extrovert, introvert etc.

Considering the adjectives framework and after taking the feedback from others, the five repititive adjectives that describe my personality are- extrovert, energetic, trustworthy, friendly and self conscious.

"It's easier to live life as an open book". This is because of several reasons- Our personality attributes must be known by us and the others as well. There has to be extrovertness and amicability. Being social is a blessing. Human being is basically a social animal. Sharing enhances affection and being open reduces negativity and stress.

Personally, i feel that there are no fine benefits of the blind area.
