Answer #1

Yes, it is expected from an individual entering into a healthcare field to be computer literate and computer competent. It is because the healthcare industry no longer survives on the paperwork. Information technology has taken the healthcare industry by storm. Now every activity has to be electronically managed and maintained from fixing the appointment to discharge of the patient and even follow-ups. Information technology has become an inseparable part of the healthcare industry as sophisticated pieces of medical equipment are used that require thorough computer literacy and competency. The healthcare industry also requires ERP and CRM to be run to manage the workforce and build relations with the patients and that needs individuals who are computer literate and computer competent.
