Water potential = solute potential + presssure potential

Solute potential = nCRT

n is ionozation constant = nothing about solute is given, so we will assume n to be 1

C is concentration of solute in molar = 0.5

R is gas constant 0.0831

T is temperature = 25℃ = 298 K

Pressure potential is taken to be 0.

So, water potential = solute potential

= (1)(0.5)(0.0831)(298) = 12.3819 Pa

Water potential = 12.39 Pa
