A). The image is formed behind the mirror because the rays only appear to be originated from a common point behind the mirror

But if we walk behind the mirror we cannot see the image because the rays do not go there

B). The image formed by plane mirror are always virtual

C). During image formation in plane mirrors

The light rays comes. From the object and reflected from the surface of the mirror and reaches our eyes .

At this point our brain feels like the rays are coming from inside of the mirror, hence there is left to right inversion.
