Answer #1

The colour of the leaves that is the type of pigment present in the leaves determine the wavelength of the light which would be maximally absorbed by those pigment. Most of the plants are green because they are rich in chlorophyll A. Chlorophyll A absorbs maximally at 430 nm and 660 nm. By looking at the colour of the leaf we can tell at which wavelength the plant is absorbing maximum amount of Sunlight and able to perform the highest rate of photosynthesis.

Colour of the leaf determines the wavelength of the light at which the plant absorbs maximally which further determines the rate of photosynthesis of that plant.
