Answer #1

Answer )

Insignificant resonance structures (less stable) are those with the highest charges and highest energy....

But significant resonance structures(more stable) are those with the leaset chargers and least energy...

For details please go through the attached solution..

If resonance structure with highest charges then it is minor or insignificant.... If resonance structure with least charges are major or significant...

    5. Resonance provides the basis for a large portion of organic chemistry and helps us identify sites of high and low electron density. We will see that the electron source (nucleophile) is attracted to the site of electron sinks or deficiency (electrophile). For the following, draw the curved arrow that shows the movement of electrons that takes you from one resonance structure to the other. Remember to always start your arrow at the source of electrons (r-bond or lone pair)....

Organic Chemistry Lab question In the experiment we did acid-base extractions to find impurities. The impurity was either benzoic acid (acid) or 4-chloroaniline (base) So in this experiment we did Acid-Base extraction with an unknown compound. So we had an unknown of 0.150 grams and mixed it with 20 mL of diethyl ether. We placed this in a separatory funnel and added 2mL of 1.0 NaOH solution to the separatory funnel and placed the stopper over the top of the...
