A 2004 article entitled "Study of Pesticides and Children Stirs Protest" describes a proposed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) study to see how small children absorb pesticides and other household chemicals. The EPA would pay each family "$970, some children's clothing and a camcorder" in exchange for their participation for two years, during which they would use various household chemicals and have their children tested for absorption rates. [Note: In 2005 it was decided not to carry out the study.]

Answer #1

a.

This would be an experiment because there is an involvement by the researchers in the form of using various household chemicals to test the children for absorption rates.

b.

The most worrisome would be treatments that are unethical to impose.

It is dangerous for the children to be tested with chemicals and so, such treatment would be the most worrisome, here and this study is a prospective study and "people’s behaviors affected by their awareness of participating in a prospective study" is not as worrisome as "treating children with chemicals which is unethical".
