Cloud infrastructure mechanisms are the fundamental building blocks of clouds to establish cloud architecture.

Below are the some of the infrastructure mechanisms:

1. Logical network perimeter
2. Virtual server
3. Cloud storage device
4. Resource replication

All the infrastructures are not broad reaching. They can be seen as components of cloud platforms.

Logical network perimeter:

It is the separation of network environment from other communication networks. It establishes a network boundary that can relate to cloud-based IT resources

This infrastructure is implemented to:

1. separate IT resources from non-authorized users.
2. separate IT resources from non-users.
3. separate IT resources from cloud consumers.
4. bandwidth controlling, which is available to IT resources.

This infrastructure is established with network devices, which control and supply the connectivity of server like Virtual Firewall and Virtual Network.

Virtual Server:

It is type of virtual software which gives physical server. These are used by cloud providers sharing the physical server with cloud consumers with virtual servers individually. Virtual server and virtual machine are same. Every virtual server host various IT resources cloud solutions and other cloud mechanisms.

1st physical server hosts 2 virtual server and 2nd one hosts 1 virtual server

Cloud Storage devices:

This infrastructure represents storage devices specifically designed cloud provisioning. Occurrence of this devices are virtualized. Cloud storage devices can be accessed remotely with cloud storage services. The most important thing of this infrastructure is security, integrity and confidentiality of data.

Cloud storage hierarchy:

1. files
2. blocks
3. datasets
4. objects

Different interfaces used in this infrastructure:

1. Network storage interfaces -> file storage to block storage
2. Object storage interface -> uses objects
3. Database storage interface -> divided into 2 main categories relational storage(sql) and non relational (NoSQL)

Resource replication:

Creating multiple occurrences of same IT resources. replicating is nothing but creating duplicates. Virtualization technology is used for this.

These are very important in cloud computing services because these maintain the structure of cloud, accessing the cloud, maintaining the cloud etc.
