Discuss why it will be important for you to know what you believe about early childhood and why. You will need to discuss this with your mentor this week. I know that many of you will not really have a clear "belief system" but I want you to think about what it might be and why

Every human being passes through various developmental stages of life. This stages are defined by milestones. So it is important for every individual to understand the various milestones which one has passed through or helps one to understand how development takes place.

For instance, almost all children start standing and walking at the age of 1 year and more, start saying a few
words by the time they are one and half to two years etc.
Early childhood stage roughly starts from the age of 2 and lasts up to 5 years of age. Understanding about early childhood will help an individual to learn the development that takes place during this stage of life in detail i.e. biological, cognitive, emotional, and social development.

Early childhood stage is a stage of rapid development where the child starts to speak and learns to speak full sentences, expresses varied emotions, can be toilet trained at this time, learn to dress on their own, differentiate between colors and shapes, express through words about their needs instead of crying,the child starts going to preschool etc.

A better understanding about a particular stage of life helps a individual to deal effectively with or understand the needs of that age group better.
