Hello there,

The affective forecasting also known as the hedonic forecasting is the prediction of how one will feel in future. The prediction is made on the basis of behavioural and emotional analysis of the idea first. In many cases, it is found that the future expectations didn't meet in case of many predicted actions. For instance, a person buy Lamborghini that it will bring a joy to him. But in the long run, it causes a burden and the feeling of joy evaporates.

The impact bias is related to the affective forecasting in the following ways :

  • It comes under the psychology of affective forecasting that guesses the duration of emotional state.
  • The tendency of impact bias is to overestimate the length and intensity of future emotional state.
  • The durability bias affects the expectations for both negative and positive events.
  • This bias comes under the affective forecasting which affects our ability to recover the psychological immune system.
