What is file-allocation table (FAT) and what is free-space list ?
file-allocation table (FAT) : A system through the contents of hard drive which an operating system keeps over a hard drive.(or) A table which an operating systems employed for locating the files over a disk.
free-space list : usually the operating sytems sustains a list of free space for maintaining the track of each and every disk block which were unused through a particular file.
