Discuss the statement that says. " Development never ceases." Support your answer with theories/ concepts of Developmental Biology
" Development never ceases." Developmental biology is the science that explain how the structure of organisms changes with time. Development is continuous process it never ceases.
Development start with fertilization, where an egg merges with a sperm cell, followed by the fusion of their nuclei to achieve the appropriate complement of genetic material. Second, the fertilized zygote undergoes several rounds of cleavage, which are mitotic divisions without cell growth that subdivide the zygote into many distinct cells.
After many rounds of cleavage, this spherical blastula begins to exhibit some specification of germ layers namely endoderm, mesoderm, and ectoderm and then proceeds to invaginate at one end, a complex process referred to as gastrulation that eventually yields a gut. All three germ layers, from which specific types of cells are derived called Organogenesis, refers to the production of tissues and organs through the interaction and rearrangement of cell groups.
Further growth and development continues after birth, and includes both physical and psychological development, influenced by genetic, hormonal, environmental and other factors. This continues throughout life through various stages like childhood and adolescence into adulthood.
In childhood we learn to walk, play, learn to speak that affect our attitude and formation psychologically.
Later comes puberty stage which is the process of physical changes through which a body matures into an adult who is capable of sexual reproduction. These changes are result of hormonal changes. In response to these hormones body changes in libido, growth, sex organ and breast. Till adulthood a person reach at sexual maturity and human adulthood encompasses psychological adult development.
Our body starts with the cell division and it continues till the death. Cells keep dividing and making new cell until a person die hence from the above explanation it is obvious that development never cease.
