Spinal Nerves: It is a mixed nerve which carries motor, sensory and autonomic signals betweent spinal cord and other parts of body.

Relationship and Functions:

- Spinal nerve is fromed from the combination of nerve fibers from dorsal and vetral roots.

- Dorsal root can be called as the afferent sensory root which carries sensory information to brain.

- Ventral root is the efferent motor root which carries motor information from brain.

- The spinal nerve emerges from the spinal column through the opening Intravetebral foramen.

- The nerve divides into branches. The Dorsal ramus and Ventral ramus.

- Dorsal ramus contains nerves which serve the posterior portions of the trunk. It helps in carrying visceral motor, somatic motor, somatic sensory information to and from skin and muscles.

- Ventral ramus contains nerves which serve the remaining anterior parts of trunk. It helps in carrying visceral motor, somatic motor, sensory information to and from ventrolateral body surface.

- White and grey rami contains preganglionic fibers of sympathetic nervous system.
