MoCl4 -----------> Mo4+ + 4 Cl-

MoCl4 -----------> MoCl2 + 2 Cl-

2 MoCl4 ---------> MoCl3 + MoCl5

Metal ion forms more than one type of ion namely Mo5+ , Mo4+ , Mo3+, Mo2+

Name : MoCl4 = Molybdenum (IV) chloride

  MoCl2 = Molybdenum (II) chloride

MoCl3 = Molybdenum (III) chloride

MoCl5 = Molybdenum (V) chloride
