#1) While measuring the volume of the irregular object the liquid used should have a lower density than the object so that the object can sink in the liquid and displace the volume of the liquid which is equal to the volume of the object.

Therefore the answer is option b) less dense than the solid

#2) Liquid x has more density than liquid Q therefore when they are added in the same container

Since the density of the liquid X is more than the density of liquid Q, therefore, added liquid Q will float on the liquid X and therefore they will form two layers in which liquid Q will be on the top.

Therefore the answer is option B
