Yes, media effects the self-esteem of young people. Few things can be done to change this - not to get affected by the trends, influencers, trolls or bullying, realizing that what we see on media is not always real, campaigning to make youngsters realise the difference between reality and media, boosting our self-confidence in many other ways etc.

An example of a celebrity campaigning to help build positive messages is Ananya Pandya, a Bollywood actress who through her Instagram page - So Positive, seeks to create awareness on social media bullying.
