Answer. Cognition involves our thoughts . It is a process by which knowledge is understood by our mind. Cognitive neuroscience is a field in which cognition is understood in terms of neuroscience. The relationship between the two is understood and studies. It studies how our cognition is impacted by the neuronal connections in our brain. It also helps us understand the neurological causes and effects of cognitions .
Strength of the theory: it is a relatively new field in psychology , it brings out a completely different aspect of cognition and it associates two fields of biology and psychology together. It also helps us understand our mind in terms of neuroscience.

Weakness of the theory: it does not take into count the other influencing factors like environment influence , learning , experience etc. while understanding cognition.
