A girl stands on the deck of the boat and tosses a rock into a lake. The rock is thrown from a height of 2.50 m above the water surface with a velocity of 4.35 m/s at an angle of 60.0° above the horizontal. As the rock strikes the water surface, it immediately slows down to exactly half the speed it had when it struck the water and maintains that speed while in the water. After the rock enters the water, it moves in a straight line in the direction of the velocity it had when it struck the water. If the lake is 2.80 m deep, how much time elapses (in s) between when the rock is thrown and when it strikes the bottom of the lake?

One of the rocks accidentally ricochets off a toy boat initially at rest in the water (see the drawing). The 0.063-kg rock strikes the boat at a velocity of 13 m/s, 15^degree below due east, and ricochets off at a velocity of 11 m/s, 12^degree above due east. Please answer You are swimming underwater in a large lake when you find a rock and decide to throw it down (all while fully immersed in the water). If one assumes that the relationship between fluid resistance and speed is given by this equation: f-kv, then compute the speed of the rock as a function of time as it travels down in the water given that you throw it with a speed of 3mg/k. (Note that k is the coefficient...
