What types of organisms did you find have thermogenic organs/tissues, list a few examples? Did you find a reference for these processes in plants and animals? Please include at least one example from these plants and the function of those tissues. In relation to animals, are thermogenic tissues associated with different individuals or different times of development of individuals in a population of organisms? Can you make an argument for why thermogenic tissues have the temporal distribution that you found in animals? How does the surface to volume ratio influence the presence or the timing of utilization in those organisms that possess these types of tissues?

Answer #1

ANS)

Thermo genesis is the process of heat production in hot-blooded animals and some species of crops such as Voodo Lilly which utilizes the heat to disperse the odor of meat that attracts the flies empowers them to pollinate its flower. The thermogenic tissues like brown fat are distributed due to its need for heat production by shivering in animals that do not warm. Because it is the S/V ratio influences the presence and time of utilization.
