Answer #1

Different Arabidopsis accessions/ lines or species show variations in their structure, geographical location, and adaptations in different environments. They have variable transcriptome and hence can be studied in detail to find out the relevance and study various questions regarding the plant development and adaptations.

For instance, in a research, it was reported that Arabidopsis halleri and Arabidopsis lyrata show different degree of tolerance towards drought conditions. This suggests that studying about these species would help us know the exact genes which are involved in providing tolerance and therefore providing information about adaptations, differences in their structure or development to different stress conditions.

New research from King’s College London has found that maternal stress before and during pregnancy could affect a baby’s brain development. In their study published in Biological Psychiatry, MRC Doctoral Researcher in Perinatal Imaging and Health, Alexandra Lautarescu and Head of Advanced Neuroimaging, Professor Serena Counsell, for the first time looked at the relationship between maternal stress and brain development in 251 premature babies. They found evidence for impaired development of a white matter tract, the uncinate fasciculus, in babies...
