Hello,

We are tasked to provide 2 synthetic pathways to synthesize 1,2-diphenylethanol in our laboratory. Each synthetic pathway should have different key steps such as diff reagents, diff bonds made or broken, etc.

My first synthetic pathway is: starting material is bromobenzene added with Mg under anhydrous ether then added with styrene oxide with H3O+. Is there anything wrong with this pathway? If everything is good with my pathway, can someone help me make a second synthetic path way (1-2 step synthesis) with a diff reagent, or reaction?
