Steps to build a normal pc for storing information are same as above but the user can consider some hardware parts unnecessary.

To install an operating system in pc follow the following steps:

1. Connect the USB flash drive to an open USB port on a computer that can read the Windows 7 installation DVD or has the installation files stored on its hard drive already.

2. Click "Start" and then click "Computer" to view a list of all the devices connected to the computer.

3. Right-click on the flash drive listed under "Devices with Removable Storage" and then click "Format." Leave all the options at the default values and then click the "Start" button to initiate the process. Once the process is completed, the flash drive is ready to be transformed into a boot device.

4. Click "Start" and then click "All Programs." Click "Accessories" and then right-click on "Command Prompt." Click "Run as administrator" from the list of options shown.

5. Type "diskpart" (without quotes here and in subsequent commands) and press "Enter" to initiate the disk partition tool. This tool operates from the command prompt and requires you to enter commands with your keyboard.

6. Type "list disk" and press "Enter" for a list of all disks connected to your computer. Make a note of the disk number for the flash drive as this will be very important later. You can determine which of the disks shown is the flash drive by looking at the size information displayed.

7. Type "select disk" followed by the disk number of your flash drive and then press "Enter." For example, if your flash drive is listed as "Disk 6," you will type "select disk 6."

8. Type "clean" and press "Enter" to remove any partitions already on the disk, and then type "create partition primary" to create a new primary partition.

9. Type "select partition 1" and press "Enter." Then type "active" and press "Enter" to activate the new partition on the flash drive.

10. Type "format FS=NTFS" and press "Enter" to reformat the partition to the NTFS format. Wait for this operation to complete before moving on.

11. Type "assign" and press "Enter" to assign a Windows volume as well as a drive letter to the flash drive. Write down the letter that was assigned to the flash drive for later.

12. Type "exit" and press "Enter" to exit the disk partition tool and return to the command prompt.

13. Insert the original Windows 7 installation DVD into the DVD drive of the computer that you're using to prepare the USB flash drive. Right-click on the installation DVD drive and click "Open."

14. Press "Ctrl-A" to select all the files on the DVD and then press "Ctrl-C" to copy them. Right-click on your desktop and click "New." Select "Folder" from the list of options and then type "Windows7." Press "Enter" to create the new folder.

15. Double-click the "Windows7" folder to open it and then press "Ctrl-V" to paste the installation files into it.

16. Type "cd\" in the command prompt to return to the root folder of your boot drive. Navigate to the "Windows7" folder on the hard drive using the command prompt. For example, if your Windows username is Manager, the correct command to type would be this: cd c:\users\Manager\Desktop\Windows7.

17. Type "cd boot" and press "Enter" to open the Boot directory containing the executable file you need to convert the flash drive.

18. Type "bootsect.exe /nt60" and the letter assigned to your flash drive, and then press "Enter" to convert the flash drive to a bootable device. For example, if the letter assigned to your flash drive was "X," the command to type would be this: bootsect.exe /nt60 X:

19. Type "exit" and then press "Enter" to leave the command prompt. Drag and all the files and subfolders from the Windows7 folder of your desktop to the flash drive.

Install From USB

1. Connect the flash drive to an open USB port on the computer or laptop that you want to install the OS on.

2. Power on the computer and then press the key specified on the startup screen to enter the BIOS. This would typically be the "F2," "F12" or "DEL" keys on your keyboard. If you don't see this information on the startup screen, refer to your motherboard documentation to determine the correct key.

3. Select "USB Storage Device" as the primary boot device. This will cause your computer to boot from the flash drive before the hard drive. Save the changes and then exit the BIOS. Once the computer restarts, the OS installation will start from the flash drive.
