Centripetal problems

I would appreciate anybody who answers them. Please show work. Thank you!

You find yourself on the Gravitron ride at the county fair. It consists of a circular room in which riders stand against the outmost wall(inside the ride) which spins. At some point, the floor is lowered and riders "stick" to the wall. The ride's radius is 6.0 m and is so popular that many standard human beings of mass 65 kg ride at a time.

(a). Find the minimum linear speed of the ride of the ride such that riders "stick" to the outermost wall.

(b). What is the minimum angular speed for part(a)?

(c). What is the centripetal force on the standard human standing against the outermost wall?

(d). What is the centripetal acceleration of the person in part (b)?

(e). Most standard humans begin to black out when acceleration reaches "4 g's ." At what linear speed would the ride need to rotate to produce this acceleration?

(f). Draw a picture of the circular ride and include vectors for Fc, ac, and vtangential.

Answer #1

You have not mention about any co efficient of friction which is necessary to solve the problem, so, I assume a minimum admissible value of 0.25. If you have another value then simply plug in in the equations to get the appropriate answer.

Please write out answers up to 4 significant figures. Please be thorough as the more steps the better i can understand. Also, can you please check my force diagram for completeness and correctness? I have n for normal force, mg as downward force of mass times gravity (should i have written just g?), and Centripetal force (not sure if this is a true force). 2) A graviton ride at the fair consists of a 10 m diameter cylindrical drum that...

I need the answers for 5 and 6 parts In a classic carnival ride, patrons stand against the wall in a cylindrically shaped room. Once the room gets spinning fast enough, the floor drops from the bottom of the room! Friction between the walls of the room and the people on the ride make them the "stick" to the wall so they do not slide down. In one ride, the radius of the cylindrical room is R = 6.1 m...
