Describe the main causes and outcomes of job satisfaction related to motivational theories.

It is a general misconception that money provides satisfaction to the employees' in the workplace. Often, it's the non-monetary factors which provide satisfaction and increases contentment in the employees from their jobs. Some of the main factors of job satisfaction are:

1. Work culture - When an employee finds the company he is working for and the peers he works with a good fit for him/her, it often results in job satisfaction. Therefore, it is very important to develop a free and open work culture to encourage the growth and satisfaction of employees.
2. Challenging work- Providing challenging job tasks often leads to an increase in the satisfaction an employee derives from his/her job. Monotonous and repetitive tasks often lead to boredom causing job fatigue among employees and lead to a reduction in the satisfaction and motivation among employees
3. Stress-free environment- When employees are given stress-free work environment, it often leads to satisfaction with their job whereas stress and pressure in a job lead to fatigue, apathy among employees and leads to high employee turnover rate.
4. Incentives- While monetary incentives also increase the motivation, non-monetary rewards such as acknowledgment of the hard work and appreciation of employees work leads to an increase in job satisfaction among employees.
