Family planning refer to the act of avoiding pregnancy for a temporary or a permanent period due to mutual understanding between the husband and wife. Family planning is encouraged by governments to control the population explosion.

Legalized abortion on the other hand doesnt constitute a family planning. In family planning, one of the partners would undergo some sort of surgery or use precautionary measures to avoid pregnancy.

Legalized abortion is a process through which the fetus would be aborted within first 4 weeks of pregnancy. This can happen for to various factors including medical reasons as well especially when a women's health is not in a position to carry ot has some other medical complications that may arise out of the pregnancy.

Maternal Mortality refers to the death of the mother during the process of delivering the baby due to accidents or medical incidents such as wrong procedures etc. The rate at which these happens is referred as maternal mortality rate.

Prenatal care is the medical care and attention received to the pregnant women throughout 9 months until the bay is delivered. There would be regular health checkups to determine the health of the woman and fetus.

This information is crucial for any psychologist especially who would work in a clinical setup as a clinical psychologist. This would help in providing counseling to the parents especially if they want to abort a child after 4 weeks and if doctor would be unable to convince them, a psychologist can tell them that's it's not a legal abortion. In some cases, when a pregnant woman comes to hospital only when she feels uncomfortable or has high fever, she would be counseled that prenatal care is crucial and that pregnant women should visit hospital regularly even if they dont suffer from any infection or fever.
