Answer #1

I work for a manufacturing unit in a consumer goods company. There are people with disability in my plant and they have certain limitation in order to carry out the work. Below things are done to help them out:

  • Assigning the activity which a person can carry out with ease without any restriction from disability. Example: A person who has issue in leg will not be given task of material movement from one location to another
  • Providing support and assistance whenever required - All workers are open and supportive to help out each other and make necessary adjustments whenever needs
  • Building Disable friendly work place = It includes building ramps, Braille writing etc. so that they do not find it hard to work and carry on activities with minimum support
  • For any new thing or process, it is always considered from disable person point of view and changes are made after detailed discussion

It helps to build more inclusive environment
