Number of moles of bromine = mass / molar mas

= 21.6 g / 79.904 g/mol = 0.27 mol

number of mol of chlorine = mass / molar mass

= 9.6 g / 35.453 g/mol = 0.27 mol

Since equimolar amounts of both the reagents are present , the number of mol of product bromine monochloride formedwill be 0.27 mol

Mass of bromine monochloride = mol x molar mass

= 0.27 mol x 115.357 g/mol

= 31.1 grams
