Answer #1

The restaurant business is part of an industry that focuses on constant innovation and relates to unconventional changes being introduced in order to win customers. Given that the cost of customer acquisition is high, we can relate to the above quote, “feel the fear but do it anyway,” in the sense that most businesses need to be able to make the tough choices, innovate and then get over the fear of losing customers which could be due to the change they have introduced. Everybody is comfortable with set structures and known outcomes and it is this comfort that lets innovation stagnate. Not that every innovation is a successful one but the fact that we have a fear of losing means we would always second guess ourselves, doubt our processes and make either rash or delayed decisions which can cost us valuable time which could have been our first-mover advantage.
