Answer #1

Malathion affects the nervous the nervous system of animals due to which it is unclassifiable. Malathion is an organophosphate group of insecticides and it can kill mosquitoes and other insects. To find out the chronic toxicity of melathion an experiment was performed with rats by continuous exposure to malathion.

Pure malathion has minimal toxicity in rats, but the presence of very small amount of impurities causes the toxicity to increase considerably. This effect comes under the inhibition of AChE activity. Due to its low toxicity malathion has been used as an insecticide with different application for many years. Malathion exhibits low mammalian toxicity and relevant impurities may increase toxicity, so it is necessary to know the impurity profile of malathion. Some necessary bioactivation to malaoxon results in a delay in which other metabolic reactions takes place. As a result formation of MMCA and MDCA dominates it's metabolism in rats.

Due to the sensitivity of RBC AChE to malathion exposure, it has been selected as endpoint for use in risk assessment. Malathion doesn't have any impact on reproduction.

Microscale techniques: In today's experiment we will be using very small amounts of chemical reactants. This method is generally less expensive and more environmentally-friendly than traditional "test tube" chemistry. Some of the waste products produced in today's experiment, particularly those containing lead and barium, are harmful to the environment. By using such small amounts of chemical reactants we generate far less waste than by using larger scale methods. Procedure 1. Put on your safety goggles. Be sure to wear them...

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
