There are various types of modification such as modification in DNA by methylation, Histone proteins and change in DNA packaging due to chromatin remodeling. These are also known as epigenetic mark.

These epigenetic patterns get affected by individual lifestyle such as their daily diet and environment in which they live. Those can be correlated with their phenotype. These phenotypic changes will occur because of an individual life experiences. So these changes could be in term of appearance, stress response, disease susceptibility and even period of life span.
