Executive Summary

The following proposal is for manufacturing of shoes targeted for senior age group people of the market. Nike as a brand has not been able to penetrate this segment of market and keeping that in mind we have come up with a solution which can get revenue and increase our profits.

We have designed the shoe keeping in mind the common joint problem faced by the elders and the design of shoe will provide support to them which will be our USP. The testing stage has been cleared and the product is ready. The results have been good on the people who used it in the testing phase.

We hope this can be a good product which will add value to our brand. The risk however remains with the traditional approach of elders as they are not aware of the product and its benefits, so our marketing campaign should target the people who would buy it for their parents.

Company Profile

Nike as a brand has been manufacturing shoes and it has a good market hold in the shoe segment. It is one of the market leader and holds 40% of market share to its name.

Market Segment

We are targeting the age group of 50 and above for both men and women. This is the segment which Nike has not been able to dominate and we have a solution by which we can penetrate this segment of the market.

Company Analysis

As we have a good brand image and a strong marketing team, we can go ahead with the proposal of making shoes specifically for the elder segment of the society. The test results is positive and though a good campaign we will be able to penetrate this market segment.

Social Responsibility

It will be good for the company brand if we show some caring branding towards the elders and it will also help in sales of other segment of shoes.

Branding

As branding strategy we need to follow a different approach. As the market segment we are targeting are not much into information and web advertising they will not be aware about the product. The segment of people are majorly dependent on their children, so we need to target the children to get the product for their parents. They must know the health benefits of the product and how it will be a thing which shows how they care about their parents.

Marketing Mix

  • Product Strategy :- The product will be unique in its kind. The USP will be the health benefits.
  • Pricing Strategy:- We will keep it in the upper section of price strategy as it will include many ergonomics.
  • Place:- It will be available in urban areas and tier I cities.
  • Promotion:- It will be promoted digitally.

Budget

The budget was already considered in business planning and we have utilized 80% of the allocated budget of development. The remaining budget can be utilized for a strong marketing campaign.

Action Plan

The marketing team needs to come up with a strong and sensitive campaign for the promotion.

Risk Factor

Awareness is major risk as elder section of society do not access internet much.
