Is it possible for a researcher to conduct robust research in a short period of time? Does a longer duration of research usually result in better results?

Yes, it is possible to conduct robust research in a short period of time. The time taken to conduct a research depends a lot on many factors, but most importantly on what has to be observed. For e.g. longitudinal studies takes relative longer time when conducted to find out change/transition in a given time-period that can vary from weeks to years.

In present times to conduct a research has become relatively easier as data collection takes less time because of information and Communications Technology [ICT] being employed by researchers. Earlier data collection and literature survey used to consume maximum time. Now one can access to any library or any organization data needed without going there. Also the report making part has eased given so many report-making softwares are available in the market. Softwares like Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) has made the process of analyzing and organizing research data very much simpler.

Given all this it is very much possible to conduct a robust research with required accuracy and precision of results in a short period of time.
