For this discussion question, compare and contrast bacteria, viruses and another one of the other microbe groups of medical significance covered in Chapters 21-23. How do these groups compare in life form, composition, genetic makeup, reproductive patterns, pathogenicity, virulence, diagnosis, transmission, epidemiology, and treatment(s). Consider everything you have learned this semester and incorporate it into your answer. Also, list and describe two specific examples of microbes from each group.

VIRUSES:-

composition- protein capsid that covers genome, nucleic acid genome.

Treatment- antifungal medications.

Pathogenicity- implantation of the virus at the portal of entrance spread to target organs, spread to websites of falling of virus into the surroundings.

Transmission- viruses are intercellular parasites. By direct contact with a person, by contact with contaminated objects, inhalation of virus-laden aerosols.

Epidemiology- a field concerned with the study of spread and prevalence of viruses in population over time.

Reproductivity- virus can't reproduce in their own by themselves infecting a host cell, just they can replicate. Virus production is by lytic or lysogenic cycle

Genetic makeup- composed of either DNA or RNA.may be double or single-stranded.

BACTERIA:-

Treatment- antibiotics for diseases.

Pathogenicity- tuberculosis due to Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Epidemiology- to detect numerous strains within the people, identify modes of transmission.

genetic Makeup - the material is DNA.

dentification - detection of antibodies, culture, microscopy, and parasitic antigens

Reproductive pattern- germs divides by binary fission and is asexual.

Composition-gel-like-matrix in comparison with water, enzymes gases plasmids.

Virulence- colonization of a market in the host, immunoevasion, immunosuppression, entry into and exit from cells.

Transmission- by contact with the individual affected with cold or by other, touching food with dirty hands.

diagnosis- microscopy, culture, detection of antibodies and microbial antigens
