You and your friend get into an argument about how long the average adult can hold their breath. She claims it is 90 seconds. You disagree insisting that it must be less than that. You decide to sample 20 of your other friends to find out. The mean of this sample is 80 seconds with a standard deviation about 15 second

You decide to use the following hypotheses, where μ represents the mean time a person can hold their breath in seconds.

H0: μ = 90

Ha: μ < 90
