Yes, I believe it is a good strategy for organisations to be open to hire people with a criminal past with few limitations.
Below are the reasons on Why an organisation needs to hire:
1.Being humane and giving a second chance for any human being is a good strategy in any organization.
Crimes may be petty or huge. For individuals who have done petty crimes there should now be a huge penalty of not providing them jobs and a livelihood. Also crimes depends upon situations and hence organisation needs to consider the situation an individual has gotten in to that crime
2. The organisation would be seen as the one most socially responsible organisation which would increase their brand name in the market
3. Organisations can give these individuals a chance to Rehabilitate and Re enter into life
4. They may be one the most important loyal and motivated set of people to the organisation
5. Organisations can reduce employee turnover through these hiring and save cost on recruitment
