Answer #1

Given data ,

Pressure = 1.41 atm

Volume = 109 mL

= 0.109 L

Temperature = 398 K

Using PV = n x R x T where n is no.of moles , p is pressure , T is temperature

1.41 x 0.109 = n x 0.0821 x 398

n = 4.7035 x 10^-3 moles

We know that,

Mass = Moles x Molar Mass

0.334 = 4.7035 x 10^-3 x Molar Mass

Molar Mass = 71 g / mol

We know ,molar mass of Cl2 is 71 g / mol

The halogen is Chlorine
