Introduction : Culture effects the psychology, philosophy of an individual or organization at a particular environment. Today in the competitive global environment it is very important to manage cultural diversity while organizations are operating in different nations. This culture effects ideology, intelligence, efficiency, effectiveness etc. Those are very important for designing strategies and implementing strategies for business. Let us discuss elements of this cultural intelligence. Cultural intelligence is an important factor to be considered and to be measured to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of an individual as well as organization.

Cultural intelligence is a concept of pooling of talents, behaviours, intelligence in a diversified work place or unfamiliar environments. Cultural intelligence focuses on interaction, attitude, intelligence, capability, attention, participation of a person at a diversified work place.

Elements of ABC’s of cultural intelligence :

A stands for ACQUIRE : It is focused on knowledge. Knowledge is an important source while an individual or organization is working in unfamiliar environment (diversified work place) knowledge only helps to handle the matters and knowledge shows the path for sustainability. So, it is very important to gain much knowledge before entering in to markets under this cultural intelligence frame work.

B stands for BUILD : After acquiring knowledge, it is very important to analyse our strengths and weaknesses, capabilities, core competencies etc., building consistency between knowledge acquired and our capabilities. In this process we can understand what we exactly require and we can analyse the situations.

C stands for Contemplate: At this stage, now we are able to observe and understand the environment. We can look at surroundings thoroughly to make perfect determinations. There will be no bias, assumptions in the information.

D stands for DO: This is the last step or stage. Now we are ready to select the right plan or strategy to adapt and implement . Finally combination of knowledge , capability or ability, behaviours , environment, situations etc give us a perfect strategy to operate in global environment.

What makes culture intelligence unique and how does it differ from emotional and social intelligence?

Cultural intelligence is a unique concept and also it is a broad concept as it dealt with intelligence and behaviours of people from different back grounds around the globe.

Cultural intelligence is not confines to only one place or surrounding or environment or an individual or a nation. It deals with diversified environments to manage cultural diversity and to use the potentiality of a person or organization to the best possible extent.

Whereas emotional intelligence is a part of cultural intelligence which focuses on pooling of talents and knowledge and is used in a particular situation.

Whereas social intelligence is focused on social behaviour of people , reactions to determine the past, present , future .
