The moral sense of personhood means an individual being who is a moral agents. Moral agent engages in behavior that can be seen as moral or immoral, as morally right or wrong, as morally permissible or impermissible. Their acts are blameworthy or praiseworthy where as

rights are  legal, social, or ethical principles of ones freedom and entitlement i.e, rights are the fundamental normed rules about what is allowed to and from people or owed to people. They are of essential importance in disciplines such as law and ethics, especialy theories of justice and deontology. The relationship is on the basis of the fact that individuals who follow moral ethics and specifically permissible oneswthical and enlightenment grounds are following rhe understanding of personhood.

Yes i think some animals are moral persons since humans have evolved animals we share archetypes with them.

Which means that some times animals are more considerate towards humans and have a tendency to be more moral than humans who tend to be good butchers for their needs of experimentation or pleasure or benefits.

Animals surely have a right to life according to the animal ethics as Life is of the utmost instrumental value to autonomous beings, as it enables them to realise their autonomy and worth thus in their highest interests. In contrast, killing is the greatest harm that can be done to such beings.

Even in experiments that require humans to use animals to test their vaccine it is to be ensured that they are least harmed and that minimal pain is given to them according to the animal code guidelines.
