What are the advantages and disadvantages of on the job, off the job and online training? For what types of training is each approach most appropriate?
Training is considered to be an integral aspect of work and organizations today understand the importance of training and are quite effective in imparting the same to make the employees more effective and productive as well. On the job training is the process where training is provided parallely while working and the primary advantage is that it provides better working knowledge to the employee whereas the limitation is that the knowledge may only be restricted to what they are doing it what they need to do. Off the job training again provides knowledge in the field they are working but it may not provide working exeprience to a great extent and online training may provide blended learning but lack practical working exeprience. Therefore each and every training will have a certain field like on the job training is better for specific work related training or project training, off the work is more of theoretical and basic training and online training is mostly a learning aspect may have less practical application.
