Colorism is also known as Shadeism. It is basically a discrimination based on color of the skin. It remains associated with prejudice. Girls/women with darker skin color are denied to work. It is being thought that dark skinned people are less capable as compared to white skin tone people.
This problem of colorism is basically a social problem and it affects the lives of African American women with a negative impression. It produces hindrances in their growth and development. Discrimination based on skin color produces mental stress for those who do not find various opportunities even without any valid and justified reason.
A systematic stratification also gets developed due to colorism. It also act as a factor of financial stress. A negative image is being thought to be linked with darker skin color. This negative image act as a barrier for black people.
These can be avoided through providing some sorts of reservation to darker skinned people. Moral education should also be spread in society so that discrimination based on skin color can be avoided.
Mandatory participation of both skin color should be made in various activities at school and colleges. It will develop a sense of mutual cooperation and respect of the talent despite hating a person based on skin color.
