Answer #1

a) closely spaced:

Electric fields are represented by electric field lines. When these lines are closely spaced the corresponding electric field is much stronger compared to when field lines are not close.

b) equally spaced:

Equally spaced elecric field lines means the strength of the electric field in the region is uniform. If they are closely spaced the electric field is an uniform strong magnetic field.

A pair of closely spaced parallel conducting plates, charged with equal and opposite electric charges, produces a uniform electric field in the region between them. In designing a cutting-edge device that will revolutionize the electronics industry, you set up such a pair of plates with a separation of 0.953 mm between them and charge them so that the direction of the electric field in their interior region is from plate A to plate B. Your idea requires that electrons, when...

The picture shows the field lines of a nonuniform electric field and five points A to E in the field. Consider the following statements. Which one is true? The electric field strength at point B is larger than at point C. We cannot compare the electric field strengths at points E and C because they are not drawn on the same electric field line. The electric field strength at point C is larger than at point B. This electric field...
