Answer #1

1. The thymus gland plays an important role in the development of a normal, healthy immune system. The function of the thymus gland is to generate mature T lymphocytes i.e,white blood cells that help the immune system fight off illness.

2. The anterior pituitary produces seven hormones. These are the growth hormone (GH), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), beta-endorphin, and prolactin.

The posterior pituitary secretes two important endocrine hormones—oxytocin and antidiuretic hormone mainly vasopressin.

3.  oxytocin in the body help in contraction of the womb uterus during childbirth and lactation. Oxytocin stimulates the uterine muscles to contract and also increases the production of prostaglandins, which increase the contractions more, it is also called as Pitocin.

4 Whenever the level of thyroid hormones (T3 & T4) decrease very much, the pituitary gland produces Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) which stimulates the thyroid gland to produce more hormones. Under the influence of TSH, the thyroid will manufacture and secrete T3 and T4 and raising them in blood
