I have a question about confidence interval and z - score.

1/ What conclusion can you draw from comparing 2 ( or more ) sets of data using confidence interval ? ( Ex: Data 1 and 2 about profit from each trade in stock market )

2/ What conclusion can you draw from comparing 2 ( or more ) sets of data using z-score ? ( Same example as above )

Answer #1

1. When you compare two data sets using a confidence interval, you can compare with absolute values/ measures of the data points, and you can easily see what data points lie in the given confidence interval

2. If you are comparing two data sets using z score values, you can only see which one is more near to mean. but, you cannot compare then absolute values

For a certain law school, the entering students have an average LSAT score of about 700 with a standard deviation of about 40. The smoothed density histogram of the LSAT scores appears to follow a normal distribution. Sketch a smoothed density histogram (a bell-shaped curve) of the distributions for the LSAT scores. (For this problem, draw this on your own paper. You will not need to submit this graph.) Because this distribution is approximately normal, the mean is equal to...

Which of the following statements about confidence intervals is correct?   A The value of z* you use when constructing a confidence interval will affect where the center of the interval is. B If you construct a confidence interval for a population proportion and the interval ends up being from 0.20 to 0.40, this means the population proportion is definitely between 0.20 and 0.40. what i currently have is wrong...thanks in advance! A 95% confidence interval for a population proportion was constructed using a sample proportion from a random sample. Which of the following statements are correct? Select all that apply If we were to use a 90% confidence level, the confidence interval from the same data would produce an interval wider than the 95% confidence interval. There is a 95% chance that the 95% confidence interval actually contains the population proportion. We don't...
