Consider the following experimental error.

When decanting, some undissolved Al remained in the reaction vessel. How would this error affect your theoretical yield of Cu?

A) The Al did not react and will cause the amount of Cu to be too low, thus the theoretical yield will be erroneously low.

B ) The mass of Al will make it look like there is more Cu than there actually is causing your theoretical yield to be erroneously high.

C) This mass of the Al was included in the calculation so this will not affect the theoretical yield.

Answer #1

B) Since, Al remained in the reaction mixture so together it would add up with Cu resulting in higher value of theoretical yield.

Consider the following experimental error. When measuring out the reactants, some copper II chloride was spilled on the balance and was not added to the reaction flask. How would this error affect your percent yield of Cu? A) The mass that was spilled on the balance was not able to react and will not affect the percent yield. B) The total recorded mass of the copper II chloride was not able to react which will cause a low percent yield...

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
